Cimarron is seeking mid and senior-level Electrical Designers to support a new Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. This is a remote opportunity supporting a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off! This position is supporting a 1-year contract.

Key Duties:

• Be responsible for raceway design, equipment location, and layout.
• Be responsible for C&R schedule inputs and updates using SETROUTE, conduit, and raceway design.
• Work under the direction of more senior engineers/designers.
• Produce lower-tier and higher-tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design, scope, and models, including cable pull calculations, the design of lighting using AGI32, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
• Develop specifications for equipment and material where deviation from standard documentation is required.
• Ensure that the electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
• Interface with Construction and Subcontractors, as needed.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using customer and industry-proven concepts and procedures.
• Proven 2D MicroStation CADD, SmartSketch, and S3D skills for modeling and raceway design activities.
• Experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as SETROUTE.
• Experience performing lighting analysis using AGI32.
• Ability to input and complete corrections to databases.
• Extensive knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
• Familiarity with schematics and electrical equipment layouts.
• Hands-on experience using industry-wide electrical design/drafting tools, such as CAD 2D, and cable designing and routing software.
• Familiarity with the design of nuclear facilities.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work well with others, other disciplines, and within a team environment.
• Knowledge of computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
• Possesses leadership qualities with an emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
• High School or equivalent and 12 or more years of experience, or Associate degree and 8 or more years of experience.

Additional Skills Requirements for Senior-level:

• High School or equivalent and 15 or more years of experience, or Associate degree and 11 or more years of experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
• Hands-on use in a 3D electrical model design platform and electrical design.
